New Study: Increasing Activity Sparks Increase in Happiness - Part 1

It is widely understood that increasing how active you are, increases the number of calories you burn, and it can have a positive impact on your physical health. But what about mental health, and more specifically, outlook? This is particular connection, between increasing one’s frequency in activity and whether they were more inclined to have a positive versus negative outlook is exactly what researchers at the University of Michigan were interested in.

The evidence was overwhelming. The researchers found a strong connection between increased activity levels and positive mental health within every population they looked at. Covering nearly every population within present day society, they included children, adolescents, adults, older adults, seniors, cancer survivors, and drug abusers. Ideal activity levels for each population were pendant upon ability and limitations.
